How Big Ag Corporations Stand to Profit Off War

During the beginnings of the Russia-Ukraine War, agricultural corporations made substantial profit, oftentimes over 100%, thanks to market concentration. At a Senate Agriculture Committee Hearing, Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN) presses industry experts on if this same thing will happen to fertilizer companies, who have jacked up the price of fertilizer since the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Smith points out that while these corporations do extremely well, farmer are struggling under the weight of high input costs and lost markets thanks to reckless tariffs.
